Basics
The conference venue is at the English Department, Hof 8 (‘Courtyard 8’) at the City Campus of Vienna University. The nearest street entrance to the English Department is Garnisongasse 13. See map below:

From the U2 underground (purple line), station Schottentor: You can either walk to Garnisongasse (10 min.), or take a tram (37, 38, 40, 41, 42) to Schwarzspanierstraße (1 stop) and walk (5 min.) (see map on the right).
From the U6 underground (brown line), station Währinger Straße-Volksoper: Take the 40, 41, or 42 tram (direction Schottentor) to Schwarzspanierstraße (3rd stop) and walk (5 min.) (see map on the right).
Arrival by air
Vienna International Airport (Schwechat) is located about 20 minutes from the city centre by taxi or 30 minutes by public transportation. There are the following ways to get to Vienna from the airport. Please follow the link for the schedules and prices.
Airport bus
Prices (single): approx. € 8.00 for Vienna Airport Lines. You buy your ticket from the driver.
CAT (City Airport Train)
Price (single): approx. € 12.00 - A separate CAT ticket counter is located in the arrivals hall, where you can obtain information about all CAT services, purchase a ticket and much more.
S7 (suburban railway)
Price (single): approx. €4.20 (includes travel on the Vienna public transport should you have to change to bus, tram or subway in the city). Ticket machines are on the platforms at the airport and at Wien Mitte.
Airport Taxi
Price: approx. € 30.00. The cheapest option is to order a taxi in advance. This can be done on the companies’ webpages (see link).

Travelling in Vienna: public transport
Vienna has a well-functioning public transport system and tickets include travel on all forms of public transport (underground, train, tram and bus).

Depending on the length of your stay, there are various ticket options (some include reduced entry fees to museums).

You can buy tickets at the Vorverkaufstellen (‘Ticket Offices’) at any of the major train stations (e.g. Schottentor , Westbahnhof, Hauptbahnhof, Wien Mitte, etc.).You can also purchase most tickets from the ticket machines at any subway station.

Arrival by car
Caveat: Apart from the periphery, Vienna is a pay, short-term parking zone when parking on the street. The maximum parking time is 2 hours.
Short-term parking: to park on the street you will need to buy parking tickets (Parkscheine) at a tobacconist or petrol station.
